Executive Board to meet at Tan-Tar-A, 7 to be honored

OSAGE BEACH – The Missouri Baptist Convention (MBC) Executive Board will meet immediately prior to – and immediately after – this year’s annual meeting at Tan-Tar-A Resort here, Oct. 27-29.

During a 1 p.m. meeting on Oct. 27, the board is scheduled to deal with committee recommendations and to finalize its report and recommendations to messengers at the annual meeting.

The board will also meet Oct. 29 at 12:30 p.m. The Committee on Executive Board Committees will bring its report as the board organizes for a new year and finalizes committee assignments.

Seven board members, who are retiring or not returning to the board this year, will be recognized at this year’s annual meeting. They are Ronn Brooks, pastor, Florissant Valley Baptist Church, Florissant; Robert Stevens, a member of Ballwin Baptist Church, Ballwin; Clifford Case, a member of First Baptist Church, Warsaw; Paul Pope, minister, Sonrise Baptist Church, Bonne Terre; Christopher Allen, a member of First Baptist Church, Lebanon; Bettie Kleinschmidt, a member of First Baptist Church, Kearney; and Roy Reed, a member of First Baptist Church, Bolivar.

Protesting: How should churches respond?

The Evangelical world was shocked on Jan. 18, 2026, when a group of roughly 30 protestors invaded Cities Church in St. Paul, Minn., during a worship service. While Christians aren’t surprised when unbelievers sin, we were shocked to see the sacred space of religious worship attacked so blatantly. This remarkable action should lead Christians and churches to think clearly about what the Bible says regarding protesting and how churches should biblically respond.
