Wife of imprisoned U.S. pastor in Iranto speak at Ministers’ Wives Luncheon

October 21, 2013 By The Pathway

JEFFERSON CITY – Registration for the 2013 Ministry Wives Annual Luncheon is quickly filling.

“Snapshots: Women Partnering in Gospel Advancement” is the selected theme for the 2013 Ministry Wives luncheon Oct. 29 in conjunction with the Missouri Baptist Convention’s (MBC) annual meeting.

“Our desire is simply to encourage and remind our MBC ministry wives that they are part of a larger story, an army of women called to advance the gospel in our generation,” said Sandee Hedger, 2013 Task Force president. “This luncheon will be more informal in nature than previous years, designed specifically to provide ample time for Ministry Wives to network with one another.”

The program will include a video production of pastors wives’ testimonies from across Missouri, as well as keynote speaker Naghmeh Abedini, wife of Pastor Saeed Abedini, who has been imprisoned in Iran for the past year because of his Christian faith and for proclaiming the gospel. Naghmeh, a U.S. citizen living in Idaho, has been a visible force across America as a voice for her husband’s freedom as well as the persecuted church. Prayer vigils were held throughout September marking the one-year anniversary of Saeed’s arrest and imprisonment in Iran’s infamous Evin Prison. Prior to the luncheon Naghmeh will join Pathway Editor Don Hinkle in addressing the entire convention before greeting people at the MBC’s Christian Life Commission exhibit.

MBC ministry wives will also make a gift presentation of Hispanic resources to Liz Farcieth, wife of Pastor Serigo Farcieth, president of the Puebla-Tlaxcala Baptist Convention in Mexico.

Registration has now closed for this event.

“Our seating capacity is limited and registration is filling quickly,” Hedger said. “We will close registration Oct. 21. No tickets will be sold past that date. I encourage MBC wives to register as soon as possible if they plan to attend.”

The luncheon will be held at The Sheraton Kansas City Crown Center. The cost is $25. Please Register online at: mobaptist.org/strategic-partners/ministry-wives.
