‘Rediscovering God in America’ pastors’ briefing set for St. Louis

September 13, 2012 By The Pathway

ST. LOUIS – Approximately 1,000 pastors and their spouses along with other Christian leaders in Missouri are expected to attend the Missouri Renewal Project’s “Rediscovering God in America” pastors’ briefing Sept. 24-25 at the Renaissance St. Louis Grand Hotel.

The event is complimentary for all attending and includes overnight accommodations, two banquet meals and a buffet breakfast. The St. Louis event is being funded by the American Family Association. A similar event was held in June in Kansas City that drew 850 attendees, including more than 500 Missouri Baptist pastors, lay leaders and their spouses.

The St. Louis gathering will feature a variety of speakers, preachers and singers, culminating with a closing luncheon banquet featuring Texas Gov. Rick Perry as the keynote speaker. Other speakers include Historian David Barton, Family Research Council President Tony Perkins and Dean of the Liberty University School of Law Mat Staver. St. Louis attorney Ed Martin is serving as chairman of the event.

Subjects addressed during the meeting range from promoting voter registration and participation on election day, what churches and pastors can and cannot do in the election process, a variety of topics on America’s founding and sermons addressing the current state of America. There will also be a blend of sacred hymns and patriotic melodies performed and times of prayer in behalf of the nation.

Those wishing to attend may make a reservation for themselves and their spouse by calling 1-800-921-1928 or online at https://the.maxcelreg.net/MOBriefing. Reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis for the first 1,000 callers.

Protesting: How should churches respond?

Jeremiah Greever

The Evangelical world was shocked on Jan. 18, 2026, when a group of roughly 30 protestors invaded Cities Church in St. Paul, Minn., during a worship service. While Christians aren’t surprised when unbelievers sin, we were shocked to see the sacred space of religious worship attacked so blatantly. This remarkable action should lead Christians and churches to think clearly about what the Bible says regarding protesting and how churches should biblically respond.
