Pray, give, go in wake of Hurricane Isaac

August 29, 2012 By The Pathway

As Hurricane Isaac barrels ashore along the Gulf Coast, Missouri Baptists are on alert to help the victims of this massive storm.

According to Dwain Carter, MBC director of disaster relief, five areas are on alert in the state: feeding, chaplains, childcare, shower, and recovery. The alert likely will be raised to the next level – standby – as the storm makes its way north and damage is assessed.

If the level rises to “Go,” these teams will be deployed.

“We are asking Missouri Baptists to take three steps – pray, give, and go,” says Carter. “Pray for the victims of the storm as well as those in its future path. Pray for those assisting in disaster relief across the country – and specifically for Missouri Baptists who are prepared to serve.”

Missouri Baptists also are encouraged to give sacrificially in support of disaster relief. Go to www.mobaptist.org/mbcdr or contact the Disaster Relief office at 573.636.0400 ext. 631. Your gifts to MBC disaster relief efforts will ensure the funds go where most needed.
