1st Clay City, Olney Baptist Association hosting Synergistic Evangelism seminar

CLAY CITY – First Baptist Church here, in cooperation with the churches of the Olney Baptist Association will host a Synergistic Evangelism Seminar led by pastor and author Darrell Robinson of Houston, Texas.

The seminar is set for April 21, 9 a.m. Registration begins at 8:30 with coffee and donuts. The seminary will break for lunch and will finish at 4 p.m. The registration is free, but there will be a small charge if you wish to eat lunch at the church.. It is not mandatory, but would be appreciated if you could give Pastor Brad Harris a call at 618.554.5862, or drop an e-mail to parson2@hotmail.com so they have an idea of how many to expect.

The author of the book, Synergistic Evangelism, Robinson, received his ministerial education at Baylor University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and earned a doctorate from Luther Rice Seminary. He was also awarded honorary doctorates by Houston Baptist University and Minnesota Graduate School of Theology. Robinson is president of Total Church Life Ministries, Inc., working as a consultant in the area of evangelism. He is also Distinguished Professor of Evangelism at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Kansas City. Robinson served as pastor of several churches in Texas, Kansas, and Alabama over a period of some 40 years. He served in numerous denominational positions including vice president of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) in 1988-1989. He was evangelism director for the SBC from 1989–1997 in the office of vice president for evangelism of the then Home Mission Board, now the North American Mission Board.
His book, Total Church Life, is a strategy for local church evangelistic ministry that has been utilized by thousands of churches worldwide. He has also written People Sharing Jesus; Incredibly Gifted; and Doctrine of Salvation.

Robinson will also be preaching the spring revival at First Clay City, beginning Sunday morning, April 22 through Wednesday, April 25.
