THIS INFORMATION IS FOR TRAINED DISASTER RELIEF VOLUNTEERS

Our Incident Command Center is located at the Baptist Student Union of the Missouri Southern Baptist University – 906 South National Avenue – Joplin, MO. This will be where you will first check in if you are called out and where you will be eating. Sleeping will be at the Collegeview Baptist Church – 1602 North Duquense Road – Joplin, MO.

The following units are being called out:

Assessment –  If you are a trained assessor you are needed immediately.  Please contact MBC office at 800-736-6227, ext. 631.

The following units are on stand-by:

Chain Saw – All chain saw trained volunteers that are able to respond please contact Ron Crow at 417-624-0925.  Cell phone access is limited at this time, but Ron’s cell phone number is 417-439-4789.

Feeding Units
– Please be on stand by for further information.

Child Care –  If you are able to respond for child care contact Angie Hurd at 314-540-2983.

Chaplains –  All trained volunteers please contact our office here at MBC: 1-800-736-6227, ext 631.

Communication Unit – If you are able to respond, contact Jerry Palmer at 816-805-2523

Joplin is still in the state of search and rescue.  We are still assessing and determining needs.  Please be patient on responding and please no self deployment while the needs are still being assessed and determining availability of teams and volunteers.

We anticipate this being a long term response.  We appreciate your concerns and desire to serve and will communicate further information as we are able.

Hannibal-LaGrange University

Hannibal-LaGrange University (HLGU), affiliated with the Missouri Baptist Convention (MBC) since 1857, has formally requested a religious accommodation from the U.S. Department of Education from a Biden-era regulation, 34 CFR §668.14. Without timely action by the Department, the university intends to file a lawsuit seeking relief to safeguard its religious freedoms.

HLGU’s Freedom on the Inside program to celebrate first class of graduates

Hannibal-LaGrange University

Hannibal-LaGrange University’s (HLGU) President and trustees, along with the Director of the Freedom on the Inside program, are pleased to announce the program’s first ever graduation ceremony. This unique program allows incarcerated individuals to earn a fully accredited Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies. The graduation ceremony will be held on May 15 in the Jefferson City Correctional Center.
