Fabulous Fall Weekend for Women set for Arnold

September 28, 2010 By The Pathway

ARNOLD—Women ages 16 and up are encouraged to attend the Fabulous Fall Weekend for Women Oct. 1-2 at First Baptist Church here.

The theme is based upon Acts 3:19 and Romans 12:2 and is called Refresh and Renew. It is sponsored by the Women’s Ministry Division of the Missouri Baptist Convention (MBC) and the cost is $35, which includes all materials and lunch on Saturday.

The guest speaker is Jenny Broughton from Oklahoma City, Okla., who will share her powerful testimony about how God’s amazing love and grace has impacted her life. She has shared the stage with noted inspirational speaker, Beth Moore, who said, “Jenny’s life story and subsequent ministries are undeniable works of God’s huge encouragements to the Body of Christ. She is a genuine servant of the Living God and I’m honored to be her sister in Christ.”

Broughton is open about sharing the story of growing up in an alcoholic home filled with abuse, tragedy and sorrow. She was often told by her mother that she was never wanted. After a tragic case of domestic violence, she was orphaned and taken to Texas Baptist Children’s Home, where she found the Lord at age 11. Through these experiences, combined with those of being a teacher, she speaks on child advocacy issues before education, business, human services and faith-based organizations all across the country. Her message is one of laughter, tears, faith, hope and healing.

Besides listening to Broughton, those attending the conference will be able to participate in 4 out of 10 breakout sessions which will be led by Bible study teachers from around Missouri. They will also be able to enjoy praise and worship music from First Arnold. .

Register at www.mobaptist.org/wmm, or for more information call Wanda Shellenbarger, MBC women’s ministry consultant, at (417) 529-0724.

“The conference is designed to minister to both Christian and non-Christian women alike,” explained Shellenbarger. “This would be a fabulous place to bring a non-Christian where she could be introduced to God’s saving grace. We encourage women to join us for a great time.”
