JEFFERSON CITY – Missouri Baptist Evangelist Jim McNiel, chairman of the Missouri Baptist Convention (MBC) Nominating Committee, is asking for help in locating nominees for boards and agencies of the MBC.

“Be assured that your Nominating Committee is taking very seriously the task given us at the annual meeting,” McNiel said prior to the committee’s April 29 meeting at the Baptist Building. “Please pray for your brothers and sisters in Christ as we seek to do Kingdom work.”

The Nominating Committee is tasked with nominating people to serve on the various boards of the MBC and its agencies. The committee will meet again in July and just prior to the start of the MBC’s annual meeting in Springfield Oct. 25-27. The committee will offer its list of nominees for messengers to approve at the annual meeting.

Nomination forms, both manual and on-line, can be accessed at the MBC website, www.mobaptist.org. The form is also available below. McNiel asked that all nominee forms be sent to Carla Stegeman, Missouri Baptist Convention, 400 E. High St., Jefferson City, Missouri 65101 or by email to cstegeman@mobaptist.org. Anyone with questions regarding the nomination process may reach Stegeman at 1-800-736-6227, Ext. 371.

Kansas City’s Northland Church reproduces disciples through church planting

Richard Nations

Matt Marrs says he would rather be a pastor of a smaller church that has planted 20 churches than to be pastor of a church with 2,000 members. Northland Church, where Marrs serves, has sent out 10 church plants and church planters in the past two decades.
