“Your MBC Church Health Team is excited to announce three special events coming up this spring designed to help discover and strengthen the health of Missouri Baptist Convention (MBC) churches: The “Vital Signs of a Healthy Church State Clinics,” the “Spring Professional Development Seminar,” and the “2010 Preaching Workshop.”
The “Show-Me Health State Emphasis” was introduced at the 2009 Missouri Baptist Convention annual meeting that was held Oct. 26-28 in Raytown. The central focus of the emphasis is the Vital Signs of a Healthy Church Health Assessment Tool that was developed by a Church Health Task Force made up of Missouri pastors, directors of missions, laypeople and the MBC Church Health Team. A video was shown at the annual meeting that introduced the emphasis and explained how the Health Assessment Tool worked. This video is available for viewing at the MBC Church Health web site www.mobaptist.org.
The implementation phase of the Show-Me Health emphasis will begin during spring 2010. We will conduct a series of 15 Church Health Clinics around the state in March and April. Our hope is that pastors will bring up to 10 of their church leadership team and staff with them to one of these clinics. At the clinic we will share the Vital Signs Health Assessment Tool with the participants and help each team take and score the assessment. We will also lead the teams in discussing the results of the assessment. We will then provide each church the help that is needed to address any areas that they discovered they are unhealthy in. The dates and locations for the 15 clinics that will be provided can be found at the Church Health web site – www.mobaptist.org.
A registration packet has been mailed to each MBC church that can be used to register for one of these clinics. Each clinic will be limited to the first 10 churches that register. Churches will be required to pay a registration fee based on their average worship attendance as reported on the latest ACP. If the church brings a full team to the clinic (4 participants minimum) they will receive a full refund of the registration fee.
Associations can request to have a clinic in their association for their churches, and individual churches can also request to have a Health Clinic. These will be done as time and schedules permit. If you have any questions about the Show-Me Health Emphasis or the Vital Signs of a Healthy Church Health Assessment Tool, please contact Mike Cooper, Church Health Team Director at 1-800-736-6227 ext. 410 or email him at mcooper@mobaptist.org.
The second event we are excited about is the 2nd Annual “Spring Professional Development Seminar” planned for March 22 at Union Hill Baptist Church, 460 S. Summit Drive in Holts Summit. Holts Summit is just north of Jefferson City, across the river on US-54 east. This year we are privileged to have Josh Hunt, author of the book You Can Double Your Class in Two Years or Less as our special speaker. Josh will be leading us through a discussion of the book and the principles that he has developed over the years that have resulted in a dramatic increase in effectiveness and fruitfulness in God’s Kingdom. The seminar begins that morning at 10 a.m. and concludes by 4 p.m.
We encourage pastors to attend with their staff and Sunday School leaders. This will be a tremendous opportunity to learn how to help Sunday School leaders work smarter and become more effective in Sunday School growth. We believe this will be helpful to all our churches no matter the size or location. I have not noticed erectile dysfunction yet, but it was very interesting to try Viagra, to experiment, and to get new emotions and sensations. Of course, I read on https://viagragen.com/purchase-viagra-prescribed-online/ that there were possible side effects and other unpleasant consequences, but I thought that one pill wouldn’t cause anything bad. I want to note that I felt the effect of Viagra within an hour after ingestion. Of course, erectile function was stable and sustainable, and it helped to achieve the new pleasant sensations that I was looking for.
The cost of the seminar is just $10 per person ($15 at the door). This will include a copy of the book, How To Double Your Class in Two Years or Less, plus lunch on Monday. You may register on our web site at www.mobaptist.org/sunday_school or call Della Baumgartner at 1-800-736-6227 ext. 461. Deadline for registration is March 12.
If you have any questions about this conference, please feel free to contact Mark Donnell at mdonnell@mobaptist.org or 1-800-736-6227 ext. 413. We hope to see you there!
The third event that we want everyone to know about is the “2010 Preaching Workshop” that will be held on April 19-20 at Skyline Baptist Church, 949 State Hwy. 165 in Branson. The theme for the workshop will be “Preaching for Spiritual Awakening” using 2 Chronicles 7:14 and James 3:18 as the Scripture emphasis.
Guest speakers will include Charles Roesel, Kerry Skinner, Neil Franks, Leroy Fountain and host pastor Norm Howell. John Francis, MBC worship specialist, will serve as worship leader.
Registration is available on line at www.mobaptist.org, or by contacting Betty Benz at bbenz@mobaptist.org or 1-800-736-6227 ext. 462. If you have any questions about this workshop, please feel free to contact Bob Loggins, MBC prayer and spiritual awakening specialist at bloggins@mobaptist.org or 1-800-736-6227 ext. 415. (Mark Donnell is MBC Sunday School specialist.)
