Davidson names Committee
on Convention Committees

JEFFERSON CITY – Ministers and lay people have been appointed to serve on the 2008 Missouri Baptist Convention (MBC) Committee on Convention Committees by MBC President Gerald Davidson. One member is from each of Missouri’s eight regions.

Micah Fries, pastor, Frederick Boulevard Church, St. Joseph (Northwest Region) was named chairman of the committee. Other ministers serving on the committee are: Mark Anderson, Lynwood Church, Cape Girardeau (Southeast Region); Aaron Davis, First Baptist Church, Birch Tree (South Central Region); and Ken Parker, First Baptist Church, Kearney (West Central Region).

Lay people serving on the committee are William Call, Concord Baptist Church, Jefferson City (Central Region); Mark Hill, Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Springfield (Southwest Region); Audie Laubinger, First Baptist Church, Villa Ridge (East Central); and Roger Nelson, First Baptist Church, Palmyra (Northeast Region).

The Committee on Convention Committees is responsible for nominating members to the following MBC standing committees: Committee on Convention Preacher, to serve and report in 2008; two members each for the Committee on Order of Business: Credentials and the Committee on Continuing Review with terms expiring 2011, to begin serving following the 2008 convention; Committee on Resolutions and Committee on Enrollment to serve in 2009; and Committee on Local Arrangements to serve in 2010 in Springfield.
