Monday, Oct. 29

11:30 a.m. – Engage Youth Leader Luncheon, Osage Hills Baptist Church, 5237 Highway 54, Osage Beach. Cost is $5. Reservations required.

9:00 p.m. – Collegiate Ministry Dessert Luncheon; Room 70, Tan-Tar-A Resort. No tickets required.

9:00 p.m. – Christian Life Commission Reception; Room 63, Tan-Tar-A Resort. Awards will be presented during program.

Tuesday, Oct. 30

Noon – Minister’s Wives Luncheon; Crystal Ballroom, Tan-Tar-A Resort. Cost $16 per person. Tickets required. Speaker: Connie Cavanaugh. No Child Care Provided.

Noon – Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary Alumni of Missouri Luncheon; Suite G, Tan-Tar-A.

Noon – New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary Luncheon; Black Bear Lodge. Order off menu. Cost is $8:00-$14:00 per person, payable at door. No tickets required.

Noon – Partnership Luncheon; Parasol I. Tickets not required. Guest Speakers: Louie Reber, serving in Central Asia and Dwayne Brown serving in Romania.

In a sweeping First Amendment decision issued March 31, the United States Supreme Court removed a virtual gag on free speech which the state of Colorado had imposed on Christian counselors when talking to minors about their sexuality. The Chiles decision has immediate implications beyond Colorado—including within the state of Missouri.

Kansas City’s Northland Church reproduces disciples through church planting

Matt Marrs says he would rather be a pastor of a smaller church that has planted 20 churches than to be pastor of a church with 2,000 members. Northland Church, where Marrs serves, has sent out 10 church plants and church planters in the past two decades.
