Resolutions Committee to meet; submission guidelines detailed

OSAGE BEACH – The Missouri Baptist Convention (MBC) Resolutions Committee will meet Oct. 29 at 4 p.m. in room 76, level 7, Tan-Tar-A Resort to draft the Courtesy Resolution and to determine how the Tuesday session will be conducted. All resolutions are to be formally submitted by registered church messengers to the convention secretary by the end of the evening session on Oct. 29. Resolutions must be in print and include the following information: messenger’s name and address; name of church that the messenger is from; and the title of the resolution.

On Oct. 30 a member of the Resolutions Committee will read the titles of the resolutions properly submitted during the Tuesday morning business session at 11:00 a.m. The committee will hold a hearing session at 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 30. An announcement will be made to that effect during the morning business session so messengers who want to speak for or against submitted resolutions may do so. The Resolutions Committee will meet in executive session at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 30 to review, draft and consider for approval resolutions to be reported to the convention during the morning session on Oct. 31. This is in accordance with MBC Bylaw III, Section 5B and VI, Section 1B(2).

Resolutions committee members include: Doug Richey, Pisgah Baptist Church, Excelsior Springs (chairman); Rob Hawkins, First Baptist Church, West Plains; Abram Messer, First Baptist Church, Festus, Crystal City; Darrell Payne, Cornerstone Baptist Church, Sedalia; Jim Rice, First Baptist Church, Lema.
