MBC back at Tan-Tar-A for first time since 2000

OSAGE BEACH – The Missouri Baptist Convention’s annual meeting returns to Tan-Tar-A Resort along the Lake of the Ozarks, Oct. 29-31, for the first time since 2000.

That year more than 3,800 visitors and messengers gathered to hand Project 1000 an historic victory over theological moderates running the state convention. Many will remember snarled traffic and a lack of parking spaces, both of which convention organizers are confident have been solved. Since that time Tan-Tar-A officials say they have added more than 800 new parking spaces and a first-rate shuttle service has been promised.

Tan-Tar-A is nestled on 420 acres providing meeting planners with with 93,000 square feet of function space. The main facility offers more than 800 rooms (there were still vacancies as of press time) and meeting rooms. To make reservations, call 1-800-826-8272.

In a sweeping First Amendment decision issued March 31, the United States Supreme Court removed a virtual gag on free speech which the state of Colorado had imposed on Christian counselors when talking to minors about their sexuality.
