Second Romania trip planned for May 18-25

March 30, 2004

JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Baptist Convention (MBC) is putting together a May 18-25 trip to Romania as part of the ongoing partnership between Missouri Baptists and Romania Baptists.

Base price of a trip from St. Louis to Bucharest is $1,465.

Team leader Norm Howell, MBC partnership missions specialist, will be making his first trip to Romania .

“I want to get a broad perspective of all the ministries so we can plan our future trips," Howell said.

Accompanying Howell will be MBC Church Planting Director Jerry Field, who hopes to strengthen the church planting ties between Missouri and Romania.

“I’ll be going to essentially get a first-hand feel for the culture and particularly the church-planting culture in order that I can come back and get involved in orientation and training for Missouri Baptist folks," Field said. “Also, we’ll be looking at establishing a time next year when I’ll probably take a team of about three of us over there."

Missouri Baptists will be staying two nights at Hotel Ibis in Bucharest, with two dinners and two buffet breakfasts provided. A Bucharest city tour is also included.

This will be the second MBC tour of Romania this year. The first trip is scheduled for April.

An orientation date for the May trip has been set for April 19 at the Baptist Building, Howell said.
