MBC worship staff produces new podcasts

By Staff

JEFFERSON CITY – The worship department of the Missouri Baptist Convention (MBC) has produced a podcast for worship.

A monthly podcast is now available on the convention’s website, according to MBC Worship Specialist John Francis, who is serving as host and producer of MOWorship.

“Worship tends to be aural in nature,” Francis said. “Music is such a huge part of worship that a podcast would encapsulate and communicate information quite nicely for the modern worship leader.

“The other nice thing is that if it’s only my voice that you want to hear, you’ll be grossly disappointed. This 15-20 minute monthly podcast will feature a tapestry of voices, sounds and ideas that hopefully will stimulate the innovative and creative thought processes. Also, unlike many podcasts that you hear, the segments will be short and to the point, featuring interviews, columns and product demonstrations.”

The show is produced at the Baptist Building in MP3 format before it is sent to the website. It then can be downloaded on a computer and sent to an MP3 player, a phone, a Palm Pilot, a TREO, or an IPod.

Typing “Pod” in the www.mobaptist.org search engine will access the podcast. Locating the “worship” link on the home page is another potential success route to acquisition.

Podcasts will be updated at the beginning of each month.
