MBTS Presidential Medallion awarded to MBC

June 6, 2006

KANSAS CITY – Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary gave the Missouri Baptist Convention the Presidential Medallion during President’s Day activities hosted May 2.

“We are deeply appreciative of the encouragement and support of all Missouri Baptists,” Midwestern President R. Philip Roberts said. “Missouri is a wonderful place for us to call home as well as being a great base to help reach the Heartland of America and the whole world.”

Celebration of the second annual President’s Day recognized outstanding individuals who have made a significant impact on Midwestern and Christian higher education. This year the Missouri Baptist Convention was recognized for its generosity and ministry to Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Roberts awarded the Missouri Baptist Convention the Presidential Medallion encased in a shadow box and a plaque thanking Missouri Baptists for this special contribution toward the seminary and college.

Ralph Sawyer, president and Chairman of the Executive Board of the Missouri Baptist Convention, received the medallion and plaque on behalf of the convention and spoke encouragingly of the relationship with Midwestern.
