Midwestern Seminary grads include award winner
KANSAS CITY – A group of three graduates from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary May 20 includes a recipient of a LifeWay Christian Resources award.
Matthew Michael Tanner, who received a Master of Divinity degree, earned the 2006 LifeWay Pastoral Leadership award. The annual award is presented to a graduating student called into a pastoral ministry and who has completed the master of divinity degree.
Tanner currently serves as the pastor of First Baptist Church, Pattonsburg, where he and his wife, Heather, currently reside. He is the son of Steve and Mary Tanner of Mexico. While attending the College of the Ozarks, Point Lookout, he received a bachelor’s degree in administration of justice and psychology.
Anna Buckland graduated with a master of arts degree in church music. She currently serves as the intern music minister at the Northland Cathedral Assemblies of God Church in Kansas City.
She is the daughter of Clara Myers and the late Albert Myers of Manhattan, Kan. While attending Manhattan Christian College, Manhattan, Kan., she received a bachelor’s degree in Christian education. She and her husband, Phillip, currently reside in Gladstone.
James Michael Streicher graduated with a master of divinity degree. He currently serves as a chaplain candidate with the United States Air Force Reserves in Denver.
He is the son of Michael and Patricia Streicher, Warrensburg. While attending Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar, he received a bachelor’s degree in Christian ministries and communications. He and his wife, Amy, a former resident of Mount Vernon, currently reside in Kansas City.
