Dixon Builders aid HLG
By Beth Fitzwater
Hannibal – For the last 11 summers, the Dixon Baptist Builders from the Dixon Baptist Association, near Jefferson City have come to the campus of Hannibal-LagGrange College (HLG) to spend a week helping with campus renovations. Over the years, they have worked on almost every building on the HLG campus. This year they worked on Crouch Hall, a men’s dormitory, and the Quad apartments, honors housing. Anything from putting new fixtures in the bathrooms to laying laminate flooring was done, helping HLG to “put its best face forward.”
Many of the crew members are retirees giving up their time to come and help the HLG maintenance crew finish a list of tasks that would be impossible to get done on their own. There were several HLG alumni who joined the group and assisted the Dixon Builders. The HLG alumni group enjoyed their time at HLG and expressed feelings of gratitude to be able to give back to the institution that helped mold and shape their lives.
