Bible conference at Cassville leads to hunger for revivals

CASSVILLE – The Southwest Missouri Bible and Evangelism Conference Feb. 21-24 had a lasting impact, according to Jerry Williams, director of missions, Barry County Baptist Association, which sponsored the event at Corinth Baptist Church , Cassville. A total of 26 of the association’s 33 churches participated.

“I think everybody that came went back into the churches wanting to see revivals take place in their churches," Williams said.

Evangelists from Missouri included: Ron Mill; Don Walton; Bill Dudley; Larry Greenfield; Joe Murry; Bob White; and Gordon Watson. Music evangelists from Missouri Winston Barnett and John Teeter also participated, as well as preaching/music evangelists Noel Schaffer and James Ogan.

Arkansas evangelist Jim Watkins, and Oklahoma evangelists Harold Mathena, Bill Cox, John Morgan and Bob Banks also participated, as well as music evangelist Sondra Burnett from Arkansas .

Meetings began Saturday night and lasted through Tuesday night. Every church that wanted an evangelist for Sunday morning and evening services received one. Those opportunities to preach in the association’s churches led to salvations, Williams said.

“The Spirit moved in the hearts and the lives of people," he said.
