Caldwell urges Missouri Baptist praticipation in crusade

By Allen Palmeri

March 2, 2004

JEFFERSON CITY – With the Heart of America Billy Graham Crusade in Kansas City a little more than three months away, Missouri Baptist Convention (MBC) Evangelism Director Bob Caldwell is urging Missouri Baptists to call the Graham office at (816) 361-8484.

“If you have people in your church who are interested in being a part of the choir, being a part of counseling, find out how you can play a part and then get your people involved," Caldwell said.

“The greatest thing we can do is to start developing relationships with lost friends and acquaintances, people we work with, and already start inviting them to come with you to Kansas City. Bring lost people to the crusade. Sit with them. Encourage them. If they need to commit their life to Christ, go forward with them. That’s the greatest role we can play.

“We as Missouri Baptists can get literally tens of thousands of lost people there, if we really work together on it."

Caldwell is making plans to go. He will serve as needed.

“I want to be involved in any way," he said. “If that’s picking up trash in the parking lot after the event’s over, or if that’s being in the middle of the counseling, I want to be involved in serving any way that I possibly can. I know that Missouri Baptists have the same heart, wanting to do everything they can to watch the kingdom extended through this crusade."

Amid incivility, reaffirm liberty of conscience

Benjamin Hawkins

The assassination last month of Charlie Kirk brought many Americans face-to-face with a gruesome reality encountered all too often across the globe: namely, that a man might be killed simply for expressing what he believes to be true. In this age of growing incivility, may we reaffirm the foundations for liberty of conscience.
