Midwestern’s Alumni luncheon set for Oct. 26
KANSAS CITY – The Missouri Alumni Association for Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MBTS) will have its annual luncheon Tuesday, Oct. 26, at noon at First Baptist Church of Raytown. The luncheon will be in conjunction with the Missouri Baptist Convention’s annual meeting.

Resolutions Committee to consider proposals
JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Baptist Convention (MBC) Resolutions Committee will meet Tuesday, Oct. 26, to review, draft and consider for approval resolutions to be reported to the Convention by Wednesday.
Resolutions are to be formally submitted to the convention secretary by the end of Monday’s evening sessions. Proposed resolutions must be submitted by registered messengers. They should be legible, titled and dated, with the name, address and church membership of the messenger submitting the proposal. The committee will draft, revise, combine or reject proposals as it feels appropriate, and will report at 9:25 a.m. Wednesday on each resolution submitted with or without recommendation.
The Committee on Resolutions consists of: Debbie Curtis, Ballwin, chairman; James Adams, Caruthersville; James Plymale, Union; Jeff Stott, Kansas City; and Ron Willis, Ashland.
Griffin named parliamentarian
JEFFERSON CITY – Convention President David Tolliver has appointed Bob Griffin to assist him with parliamentary procedures.
Griffin recently retired as pastor of Parker Road Baptist Church, Florissant, and now lives in Gulf Shores, Ala., with his wife, Beverlin. Griffin, a graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and a former member of the Board of Trustees of the International Mission Board, also recently retired from his service on the MBC Executive Board.
The parliamentarian advises and gives parliamentary guidelines, but the chair rules during all sessions. The position of parliamentarian is not an elected position. Parliamentarians are appointed by the president of the Convention.
DOM Fellowship scheduled for Oct. 26
JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Baptist Director of Missions Fellowship will have a fellowship meal Oct. 26 at Southview Baptist Church, Raytown, in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Missouri Baptist Convention.
Dinner will be at 5:30 p.m., with wives invited. Barbecue prepared by Jack’s Stack will be served at a cost of $8.75 per person.
