Cliff Barrows to speak at Midwestern

September 28, 2004

KANSAS CITY – Cliff Barrows, veteran music director for Billy Graham Evangelistic Association since 1945, will speak at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MBTS), 5001 N. Oak Trafficway, on Oct. 5 at 10 a.m.

“It is a great honor for Midwestern to host a person of the legendary status as Cliff Barrows,” said Phil. Roberts, president, MBTS. “More importantly, Mr. Barrows is known as a faithful proclaimer of the Gospel. We will gladly hear him.”

Barrows has led congregational singing and crusade choirs around the world, playing a significant role in the Billy Graham crusades which began in Los Angeles in 1949.

Barrows has also hosted the weekly “Hour of Decision” radio program since its inception in 1950. He was inducted into the Nashville Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 1988, and into the Religious Broadcasting Hall of Fame (NRB) in 1996.

Barrows was born in Ceres, Calif. He and his wife, Ann, make their home in Marvin, N.C.

Kansas City’s Northland Church reproduces disciples through church planting

Richard Nations

Matt Marrs says he would rather be a pastor of a smaller church that has planted 20 churches than to be pastor of a church with 2,000 members. Northland Church, where Marrs serves, has sent out 10 church plants and church planters in the past two decades.
