MBC committee seeks nominations

April 13, 2004

CASSVILLE – The committee nomination process, according to Jerry Williams, chairman of the Missouri Baptist Convention’s (MBC) Nominating Committee, is an extremely important activity for Missouri Baptists.

“Nominating a good man or woman for the executive board, the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home or one of the Baptist colleges is one of the most important things we do,â?? Williams said. “It’s time to do that again, and we want people who will support the MBC and the Southern Baptist Convention.

“We also want people who believe in the Bible as God’s infallible Word. We don’t try to hide the fact that these are the kind of people we want to serve on our committees and boards.â??

The form below can be clipped and used to submit names to Williams.

Recommendations need to be postmarked by April 30, 2004, and mailed to Williams at the Barry County Baptist Association, 3004 Main St., Cassville, Mo., 65625.

Nominees are sought for:

• MBC Executive Board, one vacancy, term expiring 2007, West Central Region, minister or layperson.

• Hannibal-LaGrange College, three vacancies, terms expiring 2009, ministers and laypersons.

• Southwest Baptist University, one vacancy, term expiring 2009, minister or layperson.

• Missouri Baptist Children’s Home, three vacancies, terms expiring 2007, ministers and laypersons.

Williams said nominees should also be submitted for boards and commissions not listed as having vacancies because trustees and commissioners eligible for re-election may not choose to be re-elected or may not be recommended for re-election by the nominating committee.
