CP giving up in June over June 2002

JEFFERSON CITY – Cooperative Program giving continued a resurgence in June as Missouri Baptists gave $1,145,778 to mission causes in the state, nation and worldwide.

The June total marked the fifth consecutive month that CP giving topped the amount given in the corresponding month one year ago. The June 2002 CP offering was $1,114,183.

Missouri Baptist Convention (MBC) records also show that CP giving is up in July. Through July 18, receipts totaled $1,212,488, up 6.39 percent over the amount given during the first 18 days of July 2002.

Overall, records show that CP giving at the end of June was down 1.92 percent from the January-June 2002 total. Compared to 2003 budget figures, the June 2003 total is running 10.41 percent behind the budgeted six-month total of $8,678,082.
