NASHVILLE (BP) – The chairman of the team searching for the next leader of the SBC Executive Committee (EC) has let the members know their candidate has withdrawn his name. A release from search team chair Neal Hughes was sent to EC members on Tuesday morning, Jan. 23. KANSAS CITY, Mo (MBTS) – The Spurgeon Library at Midwestern Seminary has announced its recent acquisition of the Heritage Collection from Spurgeon’s College UK. The collection consists of thousands of books, manuscripts, letters, artifacts, newspaper cuttings, and more from Charles Spurgeon. The new acquisition makes the MBTS library home to the largest collection of Spurgeon materials in the world. SBC entities take fire over Kentucky amicus brief
NASHVILLE (BP) — An amicus brief filed with the Kentucky Supreme Court caused a swarm of controversy within the Southern Baptist Convention when it was reported Wednesday (Oct. 25) by the Louisville Courier-Journal. The brief was filed in April and addresses the case of Samantha Killary. NAMB’s Annie Offering exceeds $70 million, new giving milestone
DENVER (BP) – North American Mission Board (NAMB) President Kevin Ezell announced recently that in 2023 Southern Baptists gave an all-time record $70.2 million to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering (AAEO) for North American missions. Ezell shared the news during the annual fall meeting of NAMB’s board of trustees in Denver.
