Kearns resigns from MBC to pastor Columbia church
JEFFERSON CITY – Matt Kearns, Missouri Baptist Convention catalyst for Making Disciples, announced June 20th that he is leaving the MBC to serve as lead pastor of Woodcrest Chapel in Columbia. Baptist Builders aids New London church after fire
NEW LONDON – Antioch Baptist Church, with the help of a number of outside hands, is rebuilding. The building was destroyed in a fire five days before Christmas in 2016. Rev. Jack Emmite, pastor, said the church has had many people helping build, but recent spring teams have included a 100-member team largely from Alabama; a 60-member team from Hermitage; a Missouri on Missions group, and volunteers from Oklahoma. DALLAS – Nearly 400 messengers from Missouri Baptist churches made the trek southwest to Dallas for the Southern Baptist Convention’s annual meeting June 12-13. Missouri’s 391 messengers were part of the 9,637 messengers making up the unofficial total. Show Me Baptists were the 10th largest state delegation. Guatemala mission teams safe after Fuego’s eruption
ESCUINTLA CITY, Guatemala – Southern Baptist mission groups from the United States ministering in Guatemala are safe after a volcano erupted on June 3. One mission group from Union Hill Baptist Church in Holts Summit was working in an orphanage about 70 miles northwest of the eruption when it occurred, according to KRCG 13.
