HAYTI – “What would you do if Disaster Relief came to your area? Would you be ready?” Those are questions First Baptist, Hayti, Pastor Mark Hoover says every church should ask, because Disaster Relief (DR) workers quickly need local church support when teams move into an area to help communities clean up following natural disasters. Missouri DR assists Glenallen community after double disaster
GLENALLEN – It’s not unusual for Missouri Baptist Disaster Relief (MODR) teams to return to an area more than once due to back-to-back floods. But it’s rare that MODR teams would be called on to provide aid following two different disasters just months apart. Unfortunately, that is exactly what happened in Glenallen. In April, a tornado struck the area, killing five people, injuring several others and leaving a trail of devastation behind. MODR teams were on the ground in a matter of days … [Read more...]

Missionary kids spread gospel seeds in the Netherlands
THE NETHERLANDS (IMB) – Music and laughter waft up the path long before the teenagers on reddish-orange rental bicycles make an appearance. When the team comes to a traditional Dutch windmill that serves as a rest stop, they dismount, feeling a little stiff and saddle-sore from the two-hour ride. The discomfort isn’t enough, however, to keep the horseplay and teasing … [Read more...]
