DESLOGE— Sitting at the local clinic awkwardly in a paper gown, Dawn couldn’t stop shivering. She couldn’t … no, she wouldn’t have his baby. How could she keep something that would only be a reminder of the pain and shame of rape? That man was a monster. She had only gone on a few dates with him when he decided to force himself on her. And now she was pregnant. She was working two jobs and could barely take care of the two-year-old son she already had. She would just get a quick abortion … [Read more...]
The infinite value of every human life
A thirteen-year-old girl named Anni is seated at the piano on the stage at Carnegie Hall. She is wearing a neat white dress, and she’s playing brilliantly. The crowd applauds enthusiastically. That was one month ago. Three years ago, it was a different story. Then, Anni was huddled in a jail cell in China. She was kept there overnight without food, water, or even access to a toilet. The Chinese government had locked her up as retaliation for her father’s activities protesting China’s … [Read more...]

Supreme Court examines death penalty for the disabled
HOUSTON (BP) -- Bobby James Moore got the death penalty for a murder he committed in 1980 at a Houston supermarket. But 36 years later, he apparently has a new argument: He is intellectually disabled and cannot be executed under a 2002 U.S. Supreme Court ruling. The Supreme Court heard his case at the end of November. Moore was 21 when he and some friends decided to rob Birdsall Super Market. His job was to stand guard with a shotgun. Things did not go as planned. Almost immediately … [Read more...]
Majority of Americans now claim assisted suicide morally ‘acceptable’
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The American Medical Association has described physician-assisted suicide as a serious risk to society and “fundamentally incompatible with a physician’s role as healer.” Millions of Americans disagree. Two-thirds say it is morally acceptable for terminally ill patients to ask their doctors for help in ending their lives, according to a new survey from Nashville-based LifeWay Research. A similar number says doctors should be able to help terminally ill patients die. In … [Read more...]

"However, since then, the panel's investigation has uncovered alarming revelations about the fetal tissue … [Read more...]

This week I had three such opportunities in the same day.” Begnaud handcrafts leather bow ties that he … [Read more...]
Abortion & the Election: Five million plus children
There are many voices screaming at the top of their lungs, attempting to sway the vote of adults in this nation for their particular candidate. By this stage of the game, only the uninformed are unaware that both candidates are seriously flawed. It is a good thing when the personality of the leader exudes greatness and virtue, but neither of the candidates’ characters and personality traits rise to a level worthy of enthusiastic support. But this election was never as much about which … [Read more...]
Study: Abortion increases rate of mental health disorders
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (BP) – It may be no surprise to pro-life advocates that a new study published in the July 2016 issue of the peer-reviewed journal SAGE Open Medicine confirms women who have abortions run a significantly increased risk of mental health disorders and substance abuse. But the research offers an important boon to pro-life groups in the U.S., where scientific evidence showing the harmful consequences of abortion for women has been scarce because available data is inconsistent and … [Read more...]
