BALTIMORE – Missouri Southern Baptists will contribute widely to the Southern Baptist Convention’s (SBC)annual meeting at the Baltimore Convention Center, June 10-11.
Among those prominently appearing in Baltimore are Missouri Baptist Convention (MBC) Executive Director John Yeats, who will again run for SBC recording secretary, and MBC Partnership Strategist Jim Wells, who will again run for SBC registration secretary. Yeats and Wells would give Missouri Baptists the distinction of having two of the four national officers for the SBC.
Eddie Bumpers, pastor of Crossway Baptist Church in Springfield, will preach a theme interpretation on prayer during the June 10 morning session.
Jason Allen, president of Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, will report to messengers during the June 11 morning session.
Additionally, 11 Missourians have been placed on the SBC’s credentials and tellers committees, including Pastor Danny Decker of First Baptist Church, Warsaw, who will serve as chairman for the tellers committee. Three other Missourians have been nominated to serve on SBC entity boards.
